**DAZZLING*** YOU EYE MAKEUP

Regardless of where you are on New Years, it's appropiate to STAND OUT!! BE NOTICED!! AND SPARKLE, so yes, that means run out and buy a sparkly dress, blinging heels, and get you some DAZZLING makeup. This is the only time you are able to look like a glitter ball without being looked at with "the eye" lol. you know what I mean.
This is the look I created and it's VERY toned down on camera for some reason. Anywho, my bottom lash line is coated with the e.l.f. lustrous eyeshadow in confetti...if you want more sparkle, use it on your lid and on the lower lash line for extreme DAZZLE...I also used both my 32 piece palette's in brights and everyday. I just love those palette's because every single color is amazing. Ok enough talking, here's the look...

TUTORIAL:

Start by first applying your face primer, this will ensure when you get to your face it has smoothed out any dry patches, blurred imperfections, and minimized pores.
Prime you eyes with the eye primer.
Taking the first eyeshadow on the top row of the 32 brights palette, pat that all over the lid with an eyeshadow brush.
Using the 6th shadow on the first row of the everyday palette as your transitioning color will warm up the look.
Taking the matte black from the palette, use the contour brush to define the outer V and also sweep into the crease about halfway. This color is pigmented so don't use to much, and if you do, blend out with a blemding eye brush (which you should do anyway).
Next take the 2nd color in the last row of the brights palette and sweep lightly into the other half of the crease.
Taking the 2nd color in the 1st row of the everyday palette, highlight your brow bone.
Using the mineral eyeshadow define the inner corner of the eye. (about a fourth of the way)
Taking your confetti shadow and a small smudge brush, sweep it onto your bottom lashline.
Apply the lashes of your choice
Line your eyes with the liquid liner
Shape the brows and brush them into place with the lash and brow comb
Fill in with the eyebrow kit
Apply tinted moisturizer with a foundation brush
Apply concealer where needed afterwards
Use the tone correcting powder on any discolored areas and where you applied concealer
Set everything with the pressed powder
Apply brush to cheeks in a sweeping motion backwards to hairline
Apply bronzer on forehead, under cheekbones, on nose and chin
Apply your gloss and you're ready to dazzle the crowd ******

TRANSITIONING 1-2-3

OK SO THIS POST IS FOR ALL MY NEWLY TRANSITIONING NATURAL HAIRED GIRLS!!!
I have been using this kit off and on for about 4 months, but now with my deployment I am going to be using this every single time I wash my hair. This set is amazing. Before I began talking about Carol's Daughter, the lines this hair brand has and all the products that I use from them, let me show you my transitioning hair....
This is my hair, freshly taken out of braids with plenty of build-up from sweat(i work out 6 days a week) oils (I use all natural oils most of the time from peppermint, tea tree, olive, almond, and coconut) and grease (carols daughter's healthy hair butter, hair balm, or mimosa hair honey). Now I don't use all these products all the time or every single day. Mostly its just the natural oil but sometimes i alternate. Now from what I can tell personally I have about 8-10 inches of hair on my head. When pulled straight or straightened with a flat-iron. About 4 1/2 inches of that is natural curly hair. I have bee transitioning for about 7 months now, with the first 3 not being the best. I was uneducated about my hair, and was really stubborn on learning what it MAY need. That's where I messed up, and I flat-ironed and blowdryed my hair every week, to match the textures. This was my 3rd time trying to go natural until I discovered 2 really helpful hair blogs and Carol's Daughter hair care products.

Curly Nikki Hair Blog
This hair blog helped me so much because it is not just the story of 1 woman and her hair journey, hair regimen, or hair issue's. There are tons of other women's story on there that (may include the same) products, regimen, and even hair type but every story is different. I learned a lot from women i've never met before and I took a lot of what they said and how they felt about their natural hair to heart and it encouraged me to learn more about my hair texture, and what I needed to do to begin my great journey with my own hair.

Black Girl With Long Hair
THIS BLOG IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!
With so many phots's of girls, women, and babies rocking their natural locks, I couldn't help but stay motivated after reading and seeing the tons of stories, tips, and pics on this blog. Absolutely helpful in tutorials for your natural hair, and reasons to go natural, stay natural, and embrace natural. Tips on hair sheding, hair breakage and also the difference between the two. Your hair's porosity and mine and the difference it makes. Even product suggestions. This blog was a 1 stop shop for me, but because i'm being really open minded i checked out a few more. This 1 will always remain my favorite though.

Products I use on my hair/ Hair Regimen
I am a transitioner through protective styling now. So every chance I get I wrap my hair up in a ponytail, bun, braids, weave, or wigs. When I wash my hair thoroughly to get rid of buildup after wearing braids for 3 weeks for instance I use Carol's Daughter's Transitioning 1-2-3 kit as shown above. It comes with a low poo clarifying cleanser to get rid of build up without stripping the hair with harsh sulfates. Also comes with a renewing scalp spray to exfoliate the scalp and loosen scalp crusts inside the hair folicle (not as good as apple cider vinegar) but still gives that tingling feeling of your pores being opened. The last step is the anti breakage cream which nourishes the hair especially at the demarcation line where transitioning hair is prone to breakage. i especially like this step. While using this product I have noticed my curls are a lot softer and more defined. I always let my hair air-dry, never blow dry and they just curl up really tight. After using this kit I like to use either a leave in conditioner, or just regular olive oil to seal moisture in my air. Once its air dryed its either getting styled in a protective style, or getting worn loose for 2 days.
Transitioning with braids

When I'm co-washing my hair, I usually just use the Carol's Daughter Monoi Conditioner(pretty soon i might be using the hair milk conditioner for my curls), and monoi hair mask. Even with braids I do this. Co wash maybe about every 3 days. Once I do this I usually use the hair balm to soften my hair and leave it smelling good.  Before I get my braids or weave done I apply the healthy hair butter to protect from breakage during the process and then use the mimosa hair honey after its all done for shine.
My first ever twist-out

During the week I try to massage my scalp with olive oil, coconut oil, tea tree oil, almond oil, and peppermint oil, in any combination. I spray my do with water so the oils actually penetrate and I massage them directly onto my scalp anytime during the week when I feel my scalp being itchy.
Just took braids out

I try to get my hair trimmed every 8 weeks simply because I want the process to move along faster. It helps because I try to keep my hair above my collar and whenever I go get it straightened for trimming its always on or past my collar, so I know its growing well.

I do take hair vitamins. Not for the growth of my hair but for the strength of it. Also the extra vitamins won't hurt nothing even if my hair doesnt benefit from them. I take Nature's Bounty hair skin and nail pills with 3000mcg of biotin, they have some with a higher dosage but this is fine for me. I take the recommended 3 a day (at nightime before i got to bed after coming from the gym and eating dinner) and they have helped a lot with the strengthening of my hair.
Transitioning with a wig :)

Only use wide-teeth combs on my hair now since my hair is not thin like it used to be. I only heat straighten when getting my hair cut, and I air dry my hair everytime I wash it.
So far I believe I am doing good with my hair, it's healthy, my scalp is healthy, and it's growing marvelously to me. I am loving my curls and can't wait until my head is covered with them <3

http://www.carolsdaughter.com/hair/transitioning_kit.html
This is a brand that specializes mostly in natural hair care, but for all hair types, and when they say natural they don't necessarily mean curly, kinky, ethnic hair, they just mean maybe unprocessed, non color treated hair. Chemicals can mean anything, not just a perm. Ok just wanted to clarify, but anywho they offer collections for dry hair, damaged hair, kids hair, curly wavy and frizzy hair, straight hair, and whatever else kind of hair you may have. They offere hair oils, hair dress, leave in conditioners, clarifying products and much more. They are a little bit pricey yes, and some of their products might not work for your hair, but it's all about finding what works for you. If you have the extra money I say go ahead and shed the extra $$ for some of their products to try. Most of the lines come with a tester starter kit for you to try for about $25 to see if its for you or not. I like this brand. Maybe you will too :)

Are you transitioning?? Tell me your fave products and regimen

REVIEW TIME!!

This review will be on both 32piece eyeshadow palette's that I got in my last E.L.F haul and the Little Black Beauty Book (warm edition) I got in my mini haul. No other words except these palette's are AMAZING, E.L.F has really stepped it up, in terms of quality of eyeshadow. Every single last shadow that I have swatched or used in a look has been awesomely pigmented, and something I've learned is, just because the shadow does not show up on you skin, or the swatch is terrible on your finger, does not mean it will be on the brush, or on your eye. Here are some swatches...

PURPLE, AQUA, ORANGE, GREEN, BLUE FROM THE BRIGHTS PALETTE
I LOOOVE THE TOP ROW OF THE BRIGHTS PALETTE...IT REMINDS ME OF SOMETHING FROM URBAN DECAY OR THE BALM :) THE COLORS ARE SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL AND PERFECT FOR EVERYDAY.

I had to show the pastels in the everyday palette, I might not be able to wear them unless I WORK them really good, but nonetheless i like them :D

For this book there is absolutely no words...just check out my holiday tutorial Here using a few colors from this palette, it is all around GREAT, not 1 bad shadow :D

The two 32 piece shadow palette's retail on E.L.F and I believe in stores for $5 and so does the beauty book. You can't really go wrong with ordering either 1 of these for yourself or as a gift for your mom, best friends, sisters, ANYBODY. They are not just for people starting out with makeup, they are for anybody who can't justify spending $32 for 2 shadows :P

WILL YOU PICK UP ANY OF THESE FOR YOURSELF OR AS GIFTS??

E.L.F's Keri Hilson Inspired Makeup Tutorial

I had been wanting to recreate this beautiful green liner look on Keri Hilson ever since I saw it in one of  E.L.F's beauty blog tutorials. But I didn't have the products I needed at the time such as a green liner, the eye transformer, or lashes. In my latest E.L.F. haul u know i picked up some lashes, and the eye transformer. My liner had came already before that haul. So i was ready and anxious to recreate this look. I did my best and I think it came out beautifully. Im still working on getting a good quality camera, so my pics will be better quality. Anywho if you want to recreate this dazzling look like I did, here's the products you'll need, AND a step by step on how I achieved this look.

PRODUCT'S USED:

  • E.l.f. holiday lashes
  • E.l.f. kohl liner
  • E.l.f. shimmer eye pencil (black bandit)
  • E.l.f  liquid eyeliner (black, forest green)
  • E.l.f  eye transformer
  • E.l.f. eyebrow kit (dark)
  • E.l.f. little black beauty book (warm edition)

Tutorial:

  • Start by applying lashes first, this will ensure you don't make the line of your liner too large
  • Line the entire rim of your eyes and waterline and tight line using the kohl liner and shimmer eyeliner pencil
  • line the top lashline with the liquid eyeliner in black
  • line above the black liner with the forest green liner
  • let both dry before using an eyeliner brush to sweep on the green shadow from the eyetransformer
  • use mascara on both your lashes and the falsies
  • use a neautral shimmer shade from the warm edition book to lightly dust on the rest of your eye
  • fill in or shape brows with eyebrow kit
  • YOU'RE DONE!!

*NEW* Elf Lustrous shadows

Do you like to make a BOLD statement with your eyes?? Are GLITTERY GLAM EYESHADOWS for you?? If so than the product I am about to show you should, and probably will be your best friend this holiday season (or any time of year for you DIVAS out there). These are the new shdows from E.L.F, the long lasting lustrous eyshadows. These currently come in seven different shades, mostly neautral colors but they are THE BOMB.COM. I only picked up 2 shades in my last E.L.F haul, but soon after placed another order with the rest of the shades. The 2 I picked up were "CONFETTI" and "TOAST".

 In their jars...
with cap open
swatched...

I have not tried these products just yet on my eyes, but from swatching them on my arm and leaving them there for this blog post, you will need a primer with these. These are pigmented, and can be built up. They are a really gel like spongey consistency, and as you can tell from the picture above, you leave fingerprints in the product. Its really an ingenious product. I am impressed and cannot wait to include these in some of my christmas looks.

They are very very shimmery to the point where they have glitter in them and are really sparkly, but the glitter is not chunky chunky to where you can feel it but it is there even after washing and wiping with makeup remover, which some of you may not like. These retail on E.L.F's website (eyeslipsface.com) for a mere $3 and you can't g wrong with trying some for the holidays. NEW YEARS...maybe??

Will you pick these up..?? Tell me what you think :)

Nail Polish LOVE (14 PIECE E.L.F NAIL POLISH SET)

Overall I am just really really impressed with the 14 piece nail polish cube from E.L.F I mean i jsut got it today and I literally want to paint each of my nails a different color with each polish. Its just that good. Now wear time, i have no idea, but since most of these are going on my toes anyway, I know I can get a wear time of at least a week with no chips. You get 14 mini bottles of polish, and many of them are new holiday editions. Like 1 glitter confetti topcoat is sooo gorgeous, I can't wait to wear it. The hunter green is to die for, and there are many other unique shades in there too. I don't think this product got enough recognition by most. Some say the 15 piece nail set is better simply because it has bigger bottles, and prettier colors. But most of the colors are colors that elf already sells on their website, and that have been out for a really long time. These on the other hand are brand spankin' new. E.L.F did add a couple of these as full bottle polishes, and idk if they are limited edition for the holidays or not. I just really thought this was too good a deal to pass up on and they even lowered the price from $14.00 to $10.00 Even more of a steal...E.L.F accidently sent me 2 of these sets but only charged me for 1 so i gave the other to my room mate who also thought the colors were beautiful. I'm wearing "GLAMOUR GIRL" on my toes and nails now and the color is absolutely gorgeous. Its a brown nudey color but with a golden irridescent shimmer to it. Its soo pretty, I hope you can see the golden shimmer in the pics :D
It's such a beautiful polish and I don't have any like it.
You can see it better in this Pic...

Soooo yea I feel as if anybody who is into nail polish should pick this up, the colors are amazing, and it would be fun to try them all.:)

Do you have this set...which polish is your fave??? share with me Lovlies...<3

First Impression (GET GLOWING) E.l.F. Radiant Glow face primer

Ladies, I have a review/first impression for a new product from E.L.F It's a fave by most people, and some absolutely hate it. Me personally, I Love It. It's the mineral infused face primer :D. This little baby retails for $6 on the eyeslipsface website, and it claims to give you a smooth canvas to work with whilst applying your makeup. For me it does just that. But I'm not here to talk about the original formula. E.L.F has come out with new shades for this primer, in tone correcting green, brightening lavender, and a radiant glow primer. I picked up the radiant glow!!!

Now, i noticed that the packaging was different, and i believe this was due to the fact the pump in the original packaging was a dud!! But I can honestly say that this new "improved" pump, isnt much better :/ It took me awhile (like 10minutes) of pumping the new product before i got anything to dispense and when it did...it SPLATTERED...GROSS. I'm not sure if it's going to do this everytime or not but so far its a dud also.
As you can see the packaging is slightly different. (old model on the left, new on the right) Seems like they are giving you a bit more product, since there isnt much excess packaging on the newer model. It's still .49oz like the older 1 though. MEH

But anywho, the radiant glow claims to give your skin a luminous glow and flawless base before applying the rest of your makeup. I havent tried this on my face but so far i have tested this on the back of my hand and i can't pick it up on camera ( i wish i had my new hd cam :(...) but i did apply this on the back of my hand, and then put my tinted moisturizer (also from elf) on top of it and I could still see the glowiness and shimmer under it. Now granted I really dont have any heavy foundations with me to see if it would show up under a medium-full coverage foundation, but under tinted moisturizer it would be perfect. I'm mostly going to use this on dull gray days so i can look more luminous and have that healthy glowy skin look :D.The actual product itself is a gold color, and has a shimmer/sheen to it. This is what the product looks like...
Dispensed out of pump...
blended out a little...
completely blended out :)
So far I like this product and can't wait to use it, since the original 1 lasts all day and has my makeup last all day.

Do you have this product...lemme know what YOU think beauties??

Haulage TIME!!!

Ok beauty bloggers...ITS HAULAGE TIME!!!
I just got my e.l.f. (eyes, lips, face) package from my cyber monday order, and I immediately dove in to see my goodies :)!! Luckily though the only thing I opened was my nail cube and e.l.f actually sent me 2 OF THOSE, 1 free...woot woot. So let's get into what i got from them.

First things first, since I was coming on this deployment, i couldn't bring my whole makeup collection out here, so I needed to order a few things to help me create different looks, so the first thing i picked up were the 32 piece eyeshadow palettes in "Everyday" and "Brights".I have 3 palette's like this from e.l.f. in my collection at home and the quality varies from palette to palette. I have the spring editions in warm and cool, and the original 32 piece palette. The warm palette is kind of sucky but the cool is absolutely beautiful and the original 32 piece is equally wonderful so I'm hoping these will be too since there are some really nice colors in there. Check my review on them later on this week.
I also picked up their pigment shadows, I've used them before but I only had the teal color and the dark blue so I decided to pick up the rest of the colors except for the purple 1, it was sold out, boo :( So Can't wait to play in those :).

I also picked up 2 of the NEW lustrous eyeshadows to try out, and now im sorry I waited until my order i placed like two days ago to pick up the rest. Now I have to wait on them to come in. Oh well, I picked up Toast and Confetti. Confetti will be a nice glittery base for my christmas look and tutorial :)

Next I have a baked bronzer in Los Cabos, I love my baked bronzer in Maui, even though i don't contour with it, it adds a nice glow to my face, I'm hoping this 1 will too. Then I have my blush in Glow which is a really pretty color and also the tinted moisturizer in spice. I love the studio one in Expresso, but it's getting a bit dark for me :(

These lotion wipes are the bomb diggity. I tried 1 already, tee hee, but the scent is Vanilla sugar cookie, perfect for holidays, and the lash kit will be used for future makeup looks and the new face primer in radiant glow will be perfect to give me that golden glowy holiday face (I hope :/)

I wanted to try the eye transformer so i just threw it into my cart along with a flat eyeliner brush and a repurchase of my fave eyeliner for my bottom lashline, the boldly bronzed shimmer pencil.

Last I picked up the 14 piece nail set. 14 bottles of e.l.f. mini polish, many of them are shades they don't sell in the bigger bottles, i guess they are holiday editions, Can't wait to use them on my toes.
Well Beauty's this concludes my e.l.f hauling. Most of these products will have reviews, and even eye tutorials uploaded within the next week, so make sure to check for that. Did you get something from E.l.f during cyber monday...lets share hauls loves <3

E.L.F. Jumbo Eyeshadow Sticks

Ok so these long awaited items were the talk of facebook, instagram, and twitter once E.L.F let out word that these would soon be released. Many Elfettes (INCLUDING ME) could not wait
These jumbo eyeshadow sticks are super pigmented and glide so smoothly and creamy it's like it simply melts onto your eye. I think this is where E.L.F made their mistake with these. I believe they are to creamy to the point where they crease terribly if you have no primer/base underneath them. Also they seem to just wearaway and look like there was never an shadow there if you do not either, use a base, or set them with a pigment or powder eyeshadow. With a primer these sticks are even still JUST OK.
These swatches are accurate, even though they were taken with a webcam, im getting a new Samsung NX-1000 20.3 megapixel camera hopefully in the next 3 weeks so pictures of swatches will be of better quality for you. Any who the colors i purchased were

TURKISH COFFEE...
 FRENCH LACE
 BALI BOUND
 FEELING LUCKY

AND LIKE A BOSS
Many ladies picked these up in the hopes of replacing their NYX jumbo eyeshadow sticks.
Because of the pigmentation, i would give these a 3/5* rating :( boo. The white packaging causes messy fingerprints to get onto it and from sliding it across your eye it smears on the packaging, causing a not so cute look for these. These also don't blend very well together, you really have to work for some blending and if you use a brush you might blend it all away. All in all these can be of good use as a nice base to make eyeshadows more vibrant, but alone these are simply hard to work with and crease happy ( :D ha silly me) Are these a dupe for the NYX sticks?? I believe they can be if you plan to only use these as a base. Im pretty sure you would do just fine working with these.

Here is a look I created using The baked eyeshadow in "BURNT PLUM" and the eyeshadow sticks in "BALI BOUND" "TURKISH COFFEE" AND "FEELING LUCKY" Like I said, if you can work with them, then they are ok :)
